Suparna Gupta

Suparna founded Aangan with a psycho-social programme for child victims in a Mumbai rescue home. This grew into country-wide program with state departments to improve care, conditions, and rehabilitation in state run rescue homes. By 2013, the work led her back to districts with high incidence of child trafficking, child marriage, and child labour; and she developed a community based prevention model, which currently runs in six districts. Suparna is an Ashoka fellow, Asia 21 Young Leader, a Mason Fellow from Harvard Kennedy School and Ash Centre for Democratic Governance and Innovation Harvard, a finalist for the Jubilant Bhartia Schwab Foundation India's Social Entrepreneur of the Year 2015, and winner of the L’Oreal NDTV Women of Worth Award, Social Impact 2016.
