অবৈধ সংযোগের বিনিময়ের ব্যাপারে অবগত থাকায় ভিজিল্যান্স বিভাগ প্রায়শই ওই এলাকায় অভিযান চালাত এবং এর ফলে নিয়মিত আমাদের সংযোগ কেটে দেওয়া হতো। এলাকার অন্য মহিলাদের মতো আমিও বাড়িতে বসে টিপ প্যাকিংয়ের কাজ করতাম এবং দিনে 100–150 টাকা আয় করতাম। তবে, যেসব দিন বিদ্যুৎ থাকত না—সেসব দিন কাজ করতে না পারার কারণে প্রতি মাসে আমার 400 থেকে 500 টাকা লোকসান হতো।<\/p>

কেন আমাদের বিল এত বেশি আসছে এবং কীভাবে তা কমানো যায়, তা বুঝতে আমি MHT-র তিন দিনের এনার্জি অডিটর<\/a> প্রশিক্ষণ কর্মসূচিতে অংশ নিই। ওখানে আমি শিখলাম কীভাবে একটি বাড়ির আলো এবং বাতাসের প্রয়োজন বুঝতে হয়, মাসিক খরচ পর্যালোচনা করতে হয় এবং তা কমানোর উপায় বের করতে হয়। দরজা-জানলার অবস্থান, সূর্যালোক কোন দিক থেকে আসে, ছাদের উচ্চতা কত এবং ইলেকট্রিক পয়েন্ট কোথায় আছে—এসব নজরে রাখার সাথে সাথে আমি ঘর মাপার কৌশলও শিখলাম।<\/p>
