This <a href=\"http:\/\/www.grantcraft.org\/tools\/oak-foundation-governance-assessment-tool\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">framework<\/a> enables better evaluation of grantee boards, in assessing their effectiveness and weaknesses.<\/p><p>The tool, developed by the <a href=\"http:\/\/oakfnd.org\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Oak Foundation<\/a>, was created to stimulate conversations between programme officers and their grantees about how to develop and maintain effective governing bodies. It helps identify where capacity needs to be built, and other potential areas for support.<\/p><h3>Making work spaces trans-inclusive<\/h3><p>Though Section 377 has been decriminalised, the rights of trans people are constantly undermined, both societally and institutionally, as seen by the passage of the <a href=\"https:\/\/thewire.in\/lgbtqia\/why-the-transgender-community-is-angry-over-a-bill-meant-to-protect-their-rights\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">violative<\/a> Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Bill. There are 4.9 lakh documented trans people in India.
