नाझे नाव छाया कुशवाहा आहे. मी रायपूर, छत्तीसगड येथे राहते. मी दूधाधारी बजरंग गर्ल्स कॉलेजमध्ये बीएच्या अंतिम वर्षाची विद्यार्थिनी आहे. मी रायपूरमधील नॅशनल असोसिएशन फॉर द ब्लाइंड – प्रेरणा भवन (एनएबीपी) मध्ये असलेल्या १२५ अंध मुलींपैकी मी एक आहे. ही संस्था आमच्या शिक्षणाला पाठींबा देते. या संस्थेतील अनेक महिला विद्यार्थीनी रेल्वे, बँकिंग, शिक्षण आणि संगीत यासारख्या क्षेत्रात काम करून स्वावलंबी झाल्या आहेत, परंतु आमच्यासाठी हा प्रवास अत्यंत कठीण राहिला आहे. कमी दृष्टी असलेल्या किंवा अंधत्वावर मात करून स्वतंत्रपणे  जगणाऱ्या मुलींची संख्या फार वाढली नाही याचे कारण आम्हाला सामना करायला लागणारी विविध आव्हाने. आमच्या समोरील सर्वात मोठे आव्हान म्हणजे परीक्षेदरम्यान चांगल्या लेखनिकांचा अभाव.<\/p>

अंध विद्यार्थी म्हणून, आम्ही स्वतः परीक्षेत लिहू शकत नाही, म्हणून आमच्या मदतीला लेखनिक नियुक्त केले जातात. जे आपण सांगीतलेली उत्तरे पेपरवर लिहून देतात. परंतु ही प्रक्रिया वाटते तितकी सोपी नाही. लेखनिक निवडण्यासाठीचे नियम कठोर आहेत – उदाहरणार्थ, लेखनिक हा परीक्षार्थीपेक्षा वयाने लहान असावा आणि खालच्या इयत्तेत शिकत असावा. जर मी दहावीची परीक्षा देत असेन, तर माझा लेखनिक आठवी किंवा नववीपेक्षा मोठ्या ईयत्तेत नसावा. अकरावी किंवा बारावीतील विद्यार्थ्यांना लेखनिक म्हणून काम करण्याची परवानगी नाही. परीक्षा प्रामाणिकपणे घेतली जावी याची खात्री करण्यासाठी हे नियम आहेत.<\/p>

अंध मुलींसाठी लेखनिक म्हणून काम करण्याची परवानगी फक्त मुलींनाच मिळते ही आणखी एक अडचण आहे. या निर्बंधामुळे आम्हाला लेखनिक शोधणे आणखी कठीण होते. अनेकदा, आम्हाला ते मिळवण्यासाठी स्वतःच्या खिशातून २००-५०० रुपये खर्च करावे लागतात.<\/p>

लेखनिक शोधणे ही एक अडचण आहे, पण चांगला लेखनिक शोधणे ही आणखीन एक अडचण आहे.  लेखकांची लेखनशैली, आकलनशैली – या सगळ्याचा परिणाम आमच्या गुणांवर होतो. आपण ब्रेलमध्ये वाचतो, तर आपले लेखक सामान्यतः बोलल्या जाणाऱ्या हिंदी किंवा इंग्रजीमध्ये लिहितात. कधीकधी, आम्हाला हे कळत नाही की आमच्या लेखनिकांनी आम्ही सांगीतलेली उत्तरे बरोबर लिहिली आहेत की नाही. माझ्या गेल्या परीक्षेत, मी माझ्या लेखनिकेला प्रत्येक उत्तर स्पष्टपणे समजावून सांगितले होते, परंतु जेव्हा निकाल आला तेव्हा मला आढळले की माझा संगीत परीक्षेचा पेपर बऱ्याच ठिकाणी रिकामा सोडला गेला होता. याचा माझ्या निकालावर परिणाम झाला.<\/p>

या सगळ्यात परीक्षेसाठी मिळणाऱ्या वेळेचाही प्रश्न आहे.  नियमांनुसार, अंध विद्यार्थ्यांना त्यांच्या परीक्षेसाठी अतिरिक्त तास मिळायला हवा. परंतु अनेक शिक्षकांना या नियमाची माहिती नसते आणि ते आम्हाला तो पूर्ण वेळ देत नाहीत. प्रश्न समजून घेण्यासाठी आणि गुंतागुंतीच्या प्रश्नांची उत्तरे लिहिण्यासाठी वेळ लागतो, त्यामुळे कधीकधी वेळ संपतो आणि आमचे नुकसान होते.<\/p>

जेव्हा माझी मैत्रीण कमलेश्‍वरी वर्मा एका महाविद्यालयात लेखनिक शोधण्यासाठी गेली, तेव्हा तेथील मुख्याध्यापकांना या नियमांची माहितीही नव्हती आणि त्यांनी मदत करण्यास नकार दिला. दुसरी ओळखीची व्यक्ती, दुर्गेश्वरी वर्मा, जी ११ वीत आहे, तिला तिच्या १० वी ची परीक्षा ७ वी च्या विद्यार्थिनीला लेखनिक म्हणून घेऊन द्यावी लागली. ती खूपच वेळ घेऊन लिहित होती आणि तिचे हस्ताक्षर अस्पष्ट होते, ज्यामुळे दुर्गेश्वरीला परीक्षेच्या तयारीनुसार अपेक्षेपेक्षा कमी गुण मिळाले. सर्वात वाईट परिस्थिती उदभवते जेव्हा लेखनिक शेवटच्या क्षणी येत नाहीत. मग आपल्याला दुसरे लेखनिक शोधण्यासाठी धावपळ करावी लागते आणि अनेकदा जास्त पैसे द्यावे लागतात.<\/p>

आमच्या महाविद्यालयाच्या प्राचार्या किरण गजपाल यांनी एक सकारात्मक पाऊल उचलले आहे. त्यांनी जाहीर केले की कोणत्याही वर्गातील विद्यार्थीनी अंध मुलींसाठी लेखनिक म्हणून काम करू शकतात. परंतु अद्याप सर्व शिक्षकांनी हा उपक्रम स्वीकारलेला नाही.<\/p>

माझी फक्त एकच मागणी आहे – आम्हाला ब्रेल लिपीमध्ये परीक्षा देण्याचा अधिकार असला पाहिजे. अशा प्रकारे, आम्ही स्वतःहून आमची उत्तरे योग्यरित्या लिहू शकतो.<\/p>

एनएबीपीच्या वंदना पवार म्हणतात की, चांगले आणि विश्वासार्ह लेखनिक शोधण्याच्या आव्हानांमुळे अनेक मुली इतक्या तणावात येतात की त्या जेवण सोडून देतात. आणि हे खरे आहे – जेव्हा तुमचे सर्व कष्ट वाया जातात तेव्हा ते तुमचे मनोधैर्य तोडते. म्हणूनच शैक्षणिक संस्थांनी हा मुद्दा गांभीर्याने घेतला पाहिजे. आम्हाला फक्त अभ्यासाचा अधिकार नको आहे.  आम्हाला कोणत्याही अडथळ्यांशिवाय, चिंता न करता आमच्या परीक्षा देण्याचे स्वातंत्र्य देखील हवे आहे.<\/p>
