As migrant workers and others return to their villages after the lockdown, it is essential to isolate them to contain the risk of spreading the COVID-19 virus. Residents of Basia village took the initiative to set up quarantine facilities themselves. For this, the village is using the Disaster Management Fund that is allocated to its gram panchayat (GP), along with resources from the community and the nonprofit PRADAN. Similar facilities are being set up in their neighbouring villages as well.
