If Shakespeare was a donor in the social sector

Quotes from the Bard reimagined as motivational posters.

2 min read

We couldn’t resist the urge to imagine how Shakespeare would respond to us lesser mortals, if he were a donor.

1. When you ask what exactly non-linear scale is

Backdrop of a woman sitting on rocks with both her hands in the air. In quotes on the image is I am not bound to please thee with my answers. Merchant of Venice-donor

2. When you share a detailed agenda for the two-day site visit that has been rescheduled for the fifth time

Backdrop of a man on a bicycle extending this hand to a woman on a bicycle in front of him. In quotes, Let's meet as little as we can. As You Like It."-donor

3. When you tell a prospective donor your fundraising targets for the year

Backdrop of a wooden table on the right of which there is a plant, a cup with a hot beverage in it, an Apple Macbook, and a notebook on the laptop's keyboard. On the left, in quotes, "I must tell you friendly in the ear, sell when you can, you are not for markets. As You Like It."-donor

4. When you’re given eight hours to turn around a grant proposal and you ask if you can submit it the following morning instead

Backdrop of a brown furry dog looking up with its tongue out. In quotes, Lord, what fools these mortals be. A Midsummer Night's Dream"-donor

5. When you create an exhaustive report but the donor’s logo isn’t big enough

Backdrop of three lit while candles. In quotes, You are as a candle, the better burnt out. Henry IV Part 2"-donor

6. When you finally gather the courage to make a request for unrestricted funding

Backdrop of a bank on a waterfront. In quotes, If you have tears, prepare to shed them now. Julius Caesar"-donor

7. When you ask if you can expect to receive the next tranche of your grant on time

Backdrop of hands showing a thumbs up against a sky with clouds. In quotes, No. Hamlet"-donor
