A woman from Loi community makes local liquor in Andro, Manipur_groundupstories

The Loi community in Andro village has been traditionally known to produce alcohol as the primary source of income. While Manipur is officially a dry state, it is common to see people making alcohol from fermented rice, and drums full of alcohol outside every household. Once ready, they fill it up in plastic bags and keep it on their verandahs. The consignment is then picked up by buyers and distributed across the state.
