    Balwant is a fellow at the Institute for Human Development (IHD), and co-founder and visiting senior fellow at the Impact and Policy Research Institute (IMPRI). He holds a PhD in Economics from Jamia Millia Islamia. His areas of research include gender, employment, inequality, poverty, child well-being, and information and communication technology (ICT).
