Pastoralism can prevent a biodiversity crisis
The world is losing its biodiversity. Here’s why it’s time to include pastoralists as partners in biodiversity conservation.
Ian Scoones is a professorial fellow at the Institute of Development Studies at the University of Sussex. He is PI of the PASTRES project and co-director of the ESRC STEPS Centre. He is an agricultural ecologist by original training, and works on land, livelihoods and agrarian change mostly in sub-Saharan Africa.
