Ishwar Singh is from a small village in Rajasthan. He has been interested in music since childhood and learned to sing bhajans of Kabir and other saints at local bhajan gatherings in the village. Later, he joined Mazdoor Kisan Shakti Sangathan and worked for unorganised sector workers. He used stories, theatre, and songs to connect how marginalised sections of society and young people can benefit from an understanding of constitutional rights and values. Ishwar has adapted lyrics of folk songs in protests for demanding rights and laws. He is now part of a folk band called Maqsad.
