The fear of fraud: Why rural Udaipur doesn’t trust bank correspondents
High dependence on banking agents, complicated redressal processes, and poor financial and digital literacy is leading to banking fraud in rural India.
Sindhuja Penumarty works with Shram Sarathi, a grassroots finance organisation in Udaipur district, Rajasthan, on the financial inclusion of migrant workers and their families to help them manage various life-cycle needs, including consumption, housing, healthcare, and livelihoods.
