1
Say there’s no prep required for the workshop, but send participants five videos of your own interviews, ask them to make a note of how you move your hands while speaking, what you wear in each of those, and how many times you say “basically”.
2
Turn up 10 minutes late for the workshop. Then talk about how difficult it is to make your own breakfast, followed by telling everyone about your first, second, and third favourite breakfast for 15 minutes. Say that you can share the recipes if anyone wants.
3
Ask all the participants to turn their cameras on, then turn yours off, and ask if they are comfortable talking to the void.
4
For an icebreaker, ask everyone to talk about their last breakup and say that you are there to listen to them now…and later because it is a recorded session.
5
Go offline and then return online and unmute yourself without realising that everyone can hear you have a heart to heart conversation with your cat. “No. Get off my lap. You are not even my second favourite cat.”
6
Struggle for 15 minutes to share your screen after saying, “These slides will answer all your queries, fix the plumbing issues in your house, save your plants from dying, and write all your reports.”
7
Take the participants through your 100-slide presentation mostly made up of things people already know: “How many of you know that you should get eight hours of sleep every night?” Keep asking everyone whether they are still with you.
8
Accidentally share the tabs where you were searching for “What is a virtual call?” and “How to exit a virtual call without anyone noticing?”
9
Open the room for a Q&A session and respond to every question saying, “I will Google it and get back to you.”
