POV: When a national holiday falls on a weekend

Republic Day was a Sunday. You missed a day of leave. What does today feel like?

No extra holiday. You are sulking, and entering into a 9:00 AM check-in meeting with your manager. They sound excited to start the day early.
This is how the conversation goes:

A split image with one half saying 'How's the josh?', and the other half responding 'Bye, sir!'-nonprofit humour

2

Halfway through the meeting, your manager asks you, what is that one target that you want to achieve in the next 3 months?
Your response:

an image of Hrithik Roshan from the film Lakshya with the text, 'Comp off for 26th January. Wo hai mera lakshya!'-nonprofit humour

You complain to HR about not getting an extra day of leave. In response they say while you might have a point, it is moot because a funder visit is due and everyone will be working weekends anyway.

A man in war zone asking 'Sab chhuti lenge to jang kaun ladega?'-nonprofit humour

When that snitch colleague declares that the office does not need a comp-off, considering the amount of pending work already.
You:

A soldier saying to another soldier 'Mathura Das, isse pehle ki main tujhe gaddar karar dekar goli maar doon, bhaag ja yahan se.'-nonprofit humour

5

When your other (nice) colleague asks you how your day is going and what you got done throughout the day…
Your response:

A soldier with a deadpan expression with text 'Farz aur farzi mein bas ek maatra ka antar hota hain.'-nonprofit humour

Your best friend who feels your pain but can’t believe you’re petitioning for this extra leave, offers moral support on the bare minimum work you got done out of spite today:

Hrithik Roshan as a soldier with text 'Dekho, duniya mein kaam koi bhi karo acchi tarah karna zaroori hai.'-nonprofit humour

P.S.: This is definitely not us today, because the IDR team got their comp-off already. Cheers!
