India’s COVID-19 response limited by strong urban and tech bias
India's response to the second wave of COVID-19 glosses over the lack of infrastructure and technology know-how in rural India.

Anil Kumar Verma born in a lower medium class family and got his post graduate degree in Agriculture from Rajendra Agricultural University, Pusa (Samastipur), Bihar, India in 1994. After a brief tenure of 3 months in an ICAR research project as Junior Research Fellow, he joined PRADAN and worked for 15 years before he formed PRAN to promote and scale SRI across India. His work impacted 5 million farmers. In 2017 he was identified one among 22 outstanding social workers and in 2022 won Ashoka Fellow.
