India’s COVID-19 response limited by strong urban and tech bias
India's response to the second wave of COVID-19 glosses over the lack of infrastructure and technology know-how in rural India.
Priti Bele works as a community resource person and udyog sakhi (friend of women entrepreneurs) in Yavatmal district of Maharashtra. A single mother of two, she belongs to the Kunbi community, which is categorised as an other backward class. She is trained in sustainable agriculture practices, local democratic governance, and women entrepreneurship by the Foundation for Ecological Security (FES) and Maharashtra State Rural Livelihood Mission (MSRLM).
