A single mother of two, she belongs to the Kunbi community, which is categorised as an other backward class. She is trained in sustainable agriculture practices, local democratic governance, and women entrepreneurship by the Foundation for Ecological Security (FES) and Maharashtra State Rural Livelihood Mission (MSRLM).
