India’s COVID-19 response limited by strong urban and tech bias
India's response to the second wave of COVID-19 glosses over the lack of infrastructure and technology know-how in rural India.
Priti Patkar is a trained social worker who has been working to protect children from human trafficking and commercial sexual exploitation for over 30 years. She is the co-founder of Prerana, a Mumbai-based organisation that has led work to protect children born in brothels, children rescued from the sex trade, child victims of sexual assault, and other vulnerable children. She helped in designing the first night care centre to protect children born in the brothels of the redlight areas of Mumbai.
