Saddam is part of the Van Gujjar community and lives in Haridwar district, Uttarakhand. He is the first generation from his family who is doing his Bachelors degree. He helped start a nonprofit called Maee, which works in nature and culture conservation, education, and alternative livelihoods. He is also part of Changelooms-Youth Leaders for Climate Action, a year long opportunity for dynamic youth leaders from India to enter the climate action space and build and sustain impactful system change work.
