India’s COVID-19 response limited by strong urban and tech bias
India's response to the second wave of COVID-19 glosses over the lack of infrastructure and technology know-how in rural India.
Sanjana Mohanty is a programme and advocacy coordinator at SEWA Bharat, where she leads the organisation’s work on women’s collective enterprises, advocacy, and government partnerships. She was previously with the International Innovation Corps, where she worked with different state governments on sanitation, maternal health, education, and women’s entrepreneurship. Sanjana was also a government consultant with NITI Aayog’s Women’s Entrepreneurship Platform (WEP), and practised as a civil and commercial lawyer before transitioning to the social sector.
