Urmee Mehta

Urmee Mehta heads IDR Answers at IDR. She is a development sector professional with 20 years of experience across financial inclusion, digital platform design, strategic philanthropy, and ecosystem building. Prior to IDR, Urmee served as chief knowledge officer at Swadhaar FinAccess, where she conceptualised and led Swadhaar FINACT, a Gates Foundation–funded initiative. She has spent more than a decade in the microfinance sector, held a senior leadership role at Dasra, led a CSR foundation for a media company, and served as an independent director on the board of a leading real estate company. Urmee holds an undergraduate degree in architecture from CEPT Ahmedabad and a master’s in international development from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
