Payal P Shah is Associate Professor in Foundations of Education and Qualitative Inquiry and the Associate Director of the Walker Institute of International and Area Studies at the University of South Carolina. She conducts participatory and ethnographic research on gender and education in India. Payal has published broadly in the fields of international and comparative education and qualitative inquiry. She regularly teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in the social foundations of education, international and comparative education, and qualitative inquiry.
