Women shoulder the blame for climate change in Kashmir
Young girls and women in Kashmir are bearing the double burden of the climate crisis and gender stereotypes. Here’s how they are tackling both these issues.
Ahanger Zahida is a Kashmir based social worker and campaigner. She is CEO and co-founder at Stand for Kashmiri Youth (SKY) Trust, which is a non-government, non-political, social impact organisation. They work with a youth-centric approach in the areas of gender, health, and climate in Kashmir. She has designed, led and managed development programmes on gender, education, sexual and reproductive health, climate and WASH (water, sanitation and hygiene).
