Women weavers in Nagaland carve their own silk route
In rural Nagaland, silk weavers have struck a deal with women in a neighbouring village to exchange castor leaves for silkworms, a prized local delicacy.
Bano Haralu is the programme manager for Wildlife Conservation Society-India’s Nagaland - Conservation and Livelihoods initiative. In 2013, she formed the Nagaland Wildlife and Biodiversity Conservation Trust, which focuses on wildlife conservation education in Nagaland.
