The giving that doesn’t count but should
Across the world, communities have long practised giving rooted in reciprocity and care. So why do dominant philanthropy models still fail to recognise them?
Jessyca Dudley is founder and CEO of Bold Ventures, where she has directed over USD 60 million to BIPOC-led organizations, developing equity-centered funding strategies that disrupt traditional philanthropy. Jessyca has led Chicago African Americans in Philanthropy, served as a director at Arabella Advisors, and cofounded the South Side Giving Circle. Jessyca also teaches at the University of Chicago and holds an MPH from the University of Illinois Chicago and a BA in Women's Studies from Skidmore College.
