Lal Muansanga is the secretary of Save the Riparian, a river cleaning campaign. He is also a photographer, and one of his photos was selected among the best science images of 2023 by the journal Nature. His zoology research has been published in many international science journals. In 2023 and 2024, Lal was appointed as a judge by the Mizoram government for the Mizoram Cleanliness Competition, where districts and towns compete for awards in sustainable cleanliness practices, waste management, and community participation.
