Women unite to tackle Uttarakhand’s waste problem
Women’s collectives across six Sahastradhara panchayats collect, sort, and manage waste, even as they navigate questions of dignity around waste work.

Naina Bajpai is a communications consultant at Waste Warriors Society, a nonprofit working to catalyse systemic change in solid waste management in the Indian Himalayan Region. She supports storytelling and information, education, and communication (IEC) efforts to strengthen awareness around waste management and sustainability in the organisation’s project areas. Naina holds a Bachelor of Mass Media degree from St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai.
