Nalini Shekar

Nalini Shekar-Image

Nalini Shekar is the co-founder of Hasiru Dala, an organisation that supports more than 26,000 waste picker families across Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. She advocates for the inclusion of informal waste workers in decentralised, sustainable waste systems and for their access to social security. Nalini has also worked on gender-based violence and anti-trafficking in the US. She has trained civic officials, co-authored publications, and received several honours, including the Ashoka Fellowship and a place on the BBC’s 100 Women list.
