Photo essay: How Kolkata’s wetlands are the city’s lifeline
East Kolkata Wetlands are home to several communities that depend on them for livelihoods. Urbanisation and climate change are threatening this ecosystem.
Nayna Naskar is a community artist and project associate at the Disappearing Dialogues Collective (dD). With her extensive traditional knowledge about the wetlands, she serves as dD’s wetland trail eco-guide and conducts field research for various projects. She is currently pursuing a master's in Bengali from Rabindra Bharati University.
