Building lasting change to prevent gender-based violence
Community mobilisation in Mumbai’s informal settlements is helping prevent violence against women and girls through evidence-based interventions.
Nayreen Daruwalla leads the research, partnership, and scaling unit of the Prevention of Violence against Women and Children programme at SNEHA in Mumbai. She is a public health researcher, psychologist, and social sector leader with more than 25 years of experience working with urban poor communities in India to address violence against women and children, mental health, and sexual and reproductive health. At SNEHA, Nayreen’s role focuses on strategic guidance and building evidence, advocating for policy change and scaling impact through the SNEHA Knowledge Centre initiative.
