Pankil Goswami is a PhD candidate at the School of Social Work, McGill University. He is interested in researching informalisation of work through labour market flexibility and the consequence of precarious working conditions among people who work at the bottom in the informal economy. His PhD thesis examines the intricacies related to access of welfare policies for migrant construction workers in western India. His research and teaching are primarily interdisciplinary in nature and focused on labour, social policy, work and employment relations, and the transformation of welfare state.
