Semanti Chakladar is a research coordinator at the SEWA Cooperative Federation and feminist researcher based in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. At SEWA, they work on digitalisation, data systems, climate impact, and sustainability of informal women’s cooperatives. Prior to this, Semanti was a student journalist with The Statesman and a field research intern at SWAYAM, a West Bengal–based nonprofit focused on addressing gender-based violence. As part of their postgraduation in gender studies at TISS, Mumbai, Semanti worked extensively on non-normative queer intimacies and sexual politics.
