Erica Field
Erica Field is Professor of Economics and Global Health at Duke University specialising in the fields of development economics, health economics, and economic demography. She is a faculty research fellow at the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER), a research affiliate of the Bureau for Research in Economic Analysis of Development, and a member of the Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL) at MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology).Professor Field’s work examines the microeconomics of household poverty and health in developing countries, with an emphasis on the study of gender and development. Professor Field received her Ph.D. from Princeton University in 2003. Prior to joining the Economics Department at Duke, she was a John L. Loeb Associate Professor of Economics at Harvard University. In 2010, Field was awarded the Elaine Bennet Prize for Research by the American Economic Association, which honours a woman economist under forty who has made outstanding contributions in any field of economic research.
