Advocacy & Government: The Karnataka government has decided to offer fellowships to senior executives from the private sector on matters related to civic affairs and social impact.
The Indian Administrative Fellowship, which is slated to start this year, is an initiative by the Bengaluru-based The/Nudge Foundation and is aimed at improving the state’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) ranking. Karnataka is ranked 6th in NITI Aayog’s 2019 SDG index.
Those selected will have to work under senior Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers of rank Secretary and above, for 18 months to design and implement programmes related to civic affairs, rural development, education, water or sanitation.
Approximately 10 to 12 fellows will be selected in the first year by The/Nudge Foundation. The last date for submitting applications is March 15th, 2021. Fellows will be paid INR 20 lakh per year by the government during the fellowship period.
