Workers of the world have always been united. We, the workers of the development sector, have mostly just scheduled a meeting about it.
We, the programme officers, field coordinators, communications associates, ‘consultants’, and interns who were told this would be great exposure, hereby place our demands before the sector.
We submit these demands in the spirit of solidarity, with full acknowledgement that several of us will check our email before this manifesto is even finished.
Anandhakrishnan S is an editorial associate at IDR. Prior to this, he worked as a research analyst at Prosperiti, focusing on land and building regulations. He has also worked with various grassroots organisations on projects related to digital literacy, organic farming, and education. Anandhakrishnan holds a master’s degree in sociology from the University of Hyderabad.
Shreya Adhikari leads IDR’s climate vertical and is responsible for sourcing and producing content that amplifies underrepresented voices and narratives in the climate conversation. Additionally, she manages podcasts at IDR, including the award-winning show On the Contrary by IDR. Before joining IDR, Shreya was involved in curating and producing various arts and cultural festivals in India and internationally, including the Jaipur Literature Festival. She is a Terra.do fellow and has completed her postgraduation from Xavier’s Institute of Communication.
