How a fishing community is losing out on its income
An Adivasi village in Maharashtra can no longer rely on fishing for income because rapid urbanisation has damaged the local ecosystem.
Asma Sayed is currently pursuing her postgraduate diploma in social entrepreneurship (PGDSE) from the Transforming India Initiative, Access Livelihoods. As part of this, she is working with pastoral communities in Gujarat and Rajasthan to set up dairy enterprises for the benefit of the community. She aims to start her own social enterprise with the primary aim of working with marginalised communities in the state of Maharashtra.
