The party you didn’t know you needed (and cannot get rid of). We are always watching.

India is in a state of turmoil. From the climate crisis to your employees asking how their appraisal somehow ended up with them having lower salaries, this is a call to action for all of us in the social sector. It is time to get organised.

As concerned thought leaders, reformed investment bankers, and a secret third thing, we are launching a new apolitical party, Girgit Ekta Party*. Meet our working committee!

1. Chief Advisor

Anil P., who has been in the social sector for 25 years. He’s never said anything useful. We don’t believe in usefulness. He’s on every advisory board. So of course he is on our working committee.

2. Chief of Public Relations and Communication

Meeta S. has spent more than 15 years attending diversity training workshops. We are human, we will make mistakes. Meeta will make sure they don’t follow us around.

3. Youth advisor

Milind D, 53 years old.

4. Head of Knowledge

Cincy D., 20 years of experience in writing internal learning documents. None of them have ever been read. Which is perfect because our party does not believe in learning.

5. Chief of Grassroots Outreach

Rahul A., seven years of experience with an international consultancy where he spearheaded privatising water supply across seven drought-prone regions in India.

6. Head of Fundraising

Kabir M., can track donors faster than regulations change. Brings an extensive network of business school friends and their parents looking for tax breaks.

7. Chief AI understander

Meena K., who has built over 12 WhatsApp chatbots for fieldworkers (unused), introduced AI notetaker to her organisation (distrusted), and built a custom impact measurement app (abandoned).

*Party agenda TBD.
